What type of sewing machine do you use?
We currently share a sewing machine. It is a Pfaff Tiptronic 2040 that we purchased from the International Quilt Festival in Houston, when we were living in Texas. The features that we like best include:
- IDF Integrated Dual Feed so we don't need to use a separate walking foot
- automatic needle threader,
- needle up/down function
- dual speed (very handy when teaching kids to sew)
- dual voltage (this was handy when we moved back to Australia)
We also use an Elna 654 Overlocker (serger), predominantly when dress making.
What type of camera do you have?
I have a Canon 450D (Rebel XSi) with twin lens kit. I also purchased a EF 50mm macro lens which is great for close-ups of food and craft items. I use Corel Paint Shop Pro to edit photos.

You are very welcome to use an image from our blog provided you link back to us. We would appreciate being advised by email so that we can stop by and see what you have been making. You may not use more than one photo in your post, and please do not publish an entire tutorial.

Are free tutorials are for your personal use only. You may make them to give as gifts, but please do not sell them.
Why did you call your blog A Spoonful of Sugar?
When we started our blog that was the first name that came to us! As we dabble in a range of crafts and love to bake, we thought this suited our blog content. We have always loved the songs from Mary Poppins - such happy music.
Who designed your header?
Our in-house graphic designer, aka Sarah, has designed our header and buttons.
