Sewing Room Projects

I have recently joined a sewing group, where four of us meet each fortnight to sew and have a laugh together. It is so nice to devote a day to sewing with like minded friends. I plan to start another quilt soon, but in the meantime I have been making some smaller items that have been on my "to do" list for a while. It is lovely to work on some projects for myself - mainly things to brighten up my home.

This week I recovered my table top ironing board, something I have been meaning to do since I bought it a couple of years ago.

Here is a little round basket to match - it is perfectly sized to catch snippets of thread while sewing.

It's great to make time for all those little projects isn't it? My ironing board cover is disgusting ... I might have to follow your lead!

this would bring a smile when you have to iron things other than your quilting pieces.

Sewing with friends is such fun isnt it - I have a Monday night sewing session with my very dear friend crafts@home - she is very talented and has been kind enough to teach me loads of new things.

Lovely! What a smart ironing board. Mine doesn't come out often enough to warrant a new cover ;)

What a gorgeous little basket - I see other people have asked my question too - is there a pattern for it? I'd love to try making one!

I tried your mini gift bags - and posted the result on my blog with a link back to your tutorial!
