Prize, Party, and Peanuts...

We were lucky enough to win a recent giveaway from Linda at Two Pink Possums as part of the Blogtober Festivities. Our lovely package arrived yesterday, all beautifully wrapped.

I won the Tribeca Tunic pattern (I am thinking of a beach coverup out of cheesecloth or similar now we have some decent weather again!). Linda very generously included some goodies for Sarah too - some funky scrap booking paper and some fun, girly fabric. I especially love the pink camouflage print - perfect for a beach tote! Thanks again Linda for your generosity - you really made our day!!

We are keeping busy at Chez Sugar with a special party coming up this weekend. Here is a sneak peak at some of the party preparations - can't wait to show you the rest next week.

Sarah has been keeping us well fed with all her wonderful baking. This week she has tried out a couple of the cookie recipes from the latest Donna Hay magazine. The Peanut Butter cookies are my favourite so far.

Peanut Butter Cookies

100 g butter, softened
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 1/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 cup plain flour
1/4 teaspoon bicarb soda
1 cup Demerara sugar for rolling

Preheat oven to 180 deg C. Place butter, peanut butter, vanilla and brown sugar in bowl of electric mixer and beat for 8-10 mins until well combined. Add the egg and beat for 2-3 minutes or until light and fluffy. Add flour and bicarb soda and beat until smooth dough forms. Roll one tablespoon of dough into a ball at a time and roll in Demerara sugar. Place on baking trays lined with baking paper. Bake for 10-12 mins. Cool on wire racks.

Love the tunic pattern. It looks flattering for all body types. I noticed the Little Twin Stars card. My daughter's favorite when we lived in Japan. She had a dress made out of Twin Stars fabric. So cute. This is going to be one pretty sweet party. You ladies are always so clever.

Think Ann Landers (advice columnist).

Dear Sarah Landers:

How do you bake something and have it not burn to the bottom of the pan. I made rice krispie cake before and had to throw out the whole pan as I couldn't remove any from the pan it was like a rock.

Fab cookies. I forwarded the URL to your blog to a friend this morning and she has just spent the day going through your archives. I called in to see her and she had already baked a batch of the peanut butter cookies. Yummo!
