A Special Celebration

Yesterday we celebrated Sarah's Confirmation and after the service we had a small family gathering to mark the occasion. I was under strict instructions to keep it simple but couldn't resist a few little touches to make it special.  We choose blue for the colour scheme and using one sheet of scrap booking paper I was able to

* Decorate Lolly Bags

* Customise some simple Tea Lights

* wrap a vase

* and wrap some presents

No celebration would be complete without some yummy food including Meringues

Mini Cheesecakes (I couldn't resist the polka dotted baking cases)

Cupcakes

and Mini Quiches, plus some other delicious goodies.

We now have one week of the school term left, before we start a two week school holiday. We are looking forward to a slower pace and an opportunity to do some spring activities such as catch up on the gardening and spring clean. It is a good opportunity to get organised before the final school term of the year and the busy festive season.

It has been a couple of weeks since I have been able to get into any sewing. I have a few projects lined up and hope to make it back into my sewing room before long.

Congratulations Sarah on your confirmation - you two are amazing what a wonderful 'spread' - amazing what you can do with little supplies huh - the decorations looked fantastic - and the food very yummy. Can I ask did you make the little cheesecakes THEN put them in the casings, I have tried to use the casings but find them too small (but oh so gorgeous!), Lee x

Congratulations to Sarah on her confirmation! What a wonderful way to celebrate. I love how far you stretched that piece of scrapbook paper for all the decorations. The treats look so yummy too, and go so well with the rest of the theme.

Lisa in a word WOW! I've never seen anyone make decorations and food sing together in such harmony - the meringues match the presents, the mini-cheesecakes tie into the lolly bags. You've just taken the humble party to a whole new design level. Fantastic stuff. Congratulations to Sarah, looks like it was a wonderful day.
