Word Art Journal

Here is a great project that teens will love! They can customise a plain spiral bound notebook to suit their style.

Raid your paper recycling pile for old junk mail catalogues and magazines. Clip out any words that take your fancy. Try and get a range of colours, sizes, and fonts.

Arrange them on the front and back of the journal. When you are happy with the layout, apply some Mod Podge to them to stick them down. Allow for the glue to dry, and then paint a couple of layers of Mod Podge over the top to seal them. Allow the Mod Podge time to dry between coats. Alternatively you could use some clear contact paper over the top to protect your Word Art.

What a great project! I'll have to show my kids, maybe even the boys would like to make their own journals with comics or skateboard pictures. Thank you for sharing!

This is great. I guess the same would apply to folders and all sorts. A great college project. Hmm... I need to think of inspiration for my induction group next week... I might post something about that soon. Thanks Lisa - an inspiration as always! x

Terrific. When I was in HS I had a creative writing class. We had to keep a journal to write in every day. I sat for hours decorating the cover with just the right photos and words from magazines. I'll say yours is certainly more professional looking!

Modge Podge is underutilized these days. We tend to forget what a great product this is! Great looking notebook that anyone would like to carry around!

Love, love those cute "word" journals. I love notebooks and my next one is going to be a "word" notebook...hand-made. Happy evening.
