Sewing Time

I have been enjoying spending some time in my sewing room this week in between work and attending meetings at both schools - it is always busy at the start of a school year! Sarah will be off on a Guide camp in a couple of weeks and needs a dilly bag for her eating utensils. This is the first time I have stamped on fabric and I can see lots of possibilities for this technique. 

You may recall that last year our guest room got a big make over when it was turned into a sewing and crafting room for Sarah and I. It will need to be transformed back in the not too distant future when our interstate visitors arrive for Easter. I made up some new cushions for the bed in preparation.

Despite the hot weather, I decided to so some baking today. I found some sweet Valentine cupcake liners at Spotlight and was eager to use them. I made up a big batch of chocolate cupcakes and popped some in the freezer. Even though we don't really celebrate Valentines Day, it will be fun to have some cupcakes on Saturday. It was one of my favourite holidays when we lived in USA,  and my kids made and exchanged Valentines with all their class mates. 

Sarah and I celebrated the first anniversary of our blog this week. However with the recent tragedy of the Victorian bushfires we don't feel right about having a giveaway and will be instead making a donation to the Red Cross. We send our thoughts and prayers to all those affected in Victoria.
